a few words by osenboz:

when i first heard the song "zoombastic", i immediately
unplugged my speakers, put on my headphones, turned
the volume to the maximum, closed my eyes and listened
to it again.    ...what a massive track!

with sagesse's "cool tempo" release bankrupt recordings
have definitely choosen a worthy follower to their previous
release by crookram which was featured in here before.
(have a look at it here: crookram - through windows)

also the rest of the cd got a really nice groove, and
mixes hip hop beats with elements from funk, soul,
reaggae, dub and jazz.

so all in all i can say that i'm really looking forward
to what's next on "bankrupt-recordings"!

oh, and by the way, if you also like vocaled hip hop,
be sure not to miss the output of the collaboration
between sageesee & crookram! (look here: bar001 - escape ep)


p.s.:
i decided not to add zoombastic as pre-listen song,
because it needs to be listened with the amount of
bass it deserves and because "no dutch guyana" is
also a very nice track...

a great release if you want to listen to music
while working...
"spinach prince" is a 4-man group which tries to
merge quality-music and lounge music in an
interesting and diversified manner.

on the 45 minutes of the "spinach prince lp"
their music ranges between jazz, trip hop and instrumental
hip hop. created with guitars, drums, woodwinds, bass
and a few samples, none of the songs sound equal, but yet
they flow together in a brisk and calming way.

a few words by osenboz:

march seems not to be the most busy month for the
blog, and of course, i'm not happy about it...
but unfortunately my limited free-time currently doesn't
allow me to update the blog more frequent.
i hope it will be better in a few weeks.

meanwhile you need to be patient, and enjoy the
infrequent (but great) releases that will come as soon
as possible.

and for now, i got a really amazing cd which surely
abbreviate the waiting time...

it's the already 12th release on budabeats netlabel, and
i simply need to applaud them for their amazing selection
of free music.
each of the previous releases was amazing... and the latest
one by "crookram" is once again a great piece of music.

i really enjoyed listening to it in the morning while
traveling with the subway, because no matter how tired you
are, it surely will put a smile on your face, and animates
you to nod your head to the beats.

the last weeks i've had quite alot to do at university, and
because of that the blog needed to go to sleep for a while.

fortunately now everything calmed down, and there are
alot of releases waiting to be added, so i'll stop talking
about general stuff, and focus on music again.

the first release is the compilation by the very nice
free-music blog "good netlabels" who celebrates it's
3rd birthday.

and for this jubilee, matam (the man behind goodnetlabels)
choosed 19 chilled nujazz-downtempo-hip hop tracks by artists
like "suhov, enbe, maed, bandFX, crookram ...." and put them
together in an elaborate arranged compilation.

damn, 6 days without a new release in here...
sorry for that, but i'm a bit pinched for time currently...
but as excuse, i got a nice new release for you!

i sat in front of my computer, pressed the play-button
on aievea's bandcamp-page, and wanted to listen to the
record while doing something else.
but when marta hristea started singing, i immediately
stopped working, and focused on listening to
the 13 pieces of smooth relaxed nujazz on their
second release "cinema"

the album was entirely produced by themselve,
and i need to say, they did a really great job!

5 tracks of delicious funky beats can be found
on this way too short ep.

but within those 22 minutes, you can lay everything
else aside, and just flow away in this mix of
trip hop, jazz, funk and downtempo-beats.

christmas has gone, all relatives have been visited,
now it's time for some new music!

under the pseudonym "zengineers", phour trakk and sick-e
yielded some of the most delicious fruits in the free drum´n´bass
music garden.

now sick-e decided to plant his own trees, and once agin,
the fruits grew well.
on "genotype jazz" he went away from the streight,
repeditive and pure electronic drum'n'bass beats, and
focused more on diversified trip hop sounds, mixed with
some funk and jazz samples.

one of my favourite tracks "insanity waits" is a collaboration
with his former partner phour trakk, and shows how well
they interact.
...so probably there's hope for new trailblazing
zengineers releases also!

this time i got something really special for you...

actually i wanted to go to bed a few hours ago....
but then i saw the cover of this release, and i tought
that it might be worth the time...

and damm it, i was right!
it was worth each single second of staying awake!

...i'm quite proud to present you the
debut-release from the polish band printempo!

a 11-track release brimfully filled with innovative nujazz
mixed with some hip hop and trip hop elements.

the tracks are quite relaxing, but there's also a part in it
which seems to force you to listen closly and let the music
crawl into your mind.

unfortunately the whole introduction-text is in polish,
so i can't give you some detailed information...

but yeah... music says more than words

there are only 10 releases on budabeats yet...
but there's a reason why they don't have so much cd's
they only add absolutely high-quality releases!

...same on their latest release "klitbeats - a thing or two"

this time they brought to us the new 7-track cd from
"robert von klitzing"
the frankfurt based dj/producer took instrumental hip hop, funk,
downtempo, a bit of jazz and some lounge-music and fused them
together to a great release.

each time a new track starts, its a bit different to the one
before, but all tracks work together perfectly and provide a
relaxed and diversified chill-out soundscape.

unfortunately the release takes just 27 minutes, but there are
still 9 other releases on budabeats which wait to be heard...

the fist thing i did after unpacking my backpack was,
to check out the email from "suhov".

there wasn't alot of information in it.
just the name of the band (Jószomszéd), a short introduction,
and a list of the members and what they're doing:

saxophone,clarinet: giga
guitar: kosta velcsev dejanov
violin: zuzu
scratch: dj globe
producer,mixed and mastered by: suhov

after reading this, i thought that this could be one of those releases
which i am searching for all the time. something to relax, to sit
around with some friends - talking, joking, discussing and listening to
some smooth, discreet beats in the background.

when the first track had finished, i knew that i was right.

this release is filled with 13 tracks of absolutely finest
instrumental jazzy instrumental hip hop-tunes.
it manages to kick away all the stress of life within a few seconds,
but it still animates you to smoothly shake your head to the beats.

my favourites are:
01 - az ajtó
03 - nyitott tenyéren
05 - csak a napra
08 - úton útfélen
12 - csak az olvassa

...but i didn't manage to listen to just those tracks so far...
whenever i started listening to jószomszéd it ended up with
listening to the whole album.

a few words by osenboz:

driving dub-beats, guitar-riffs and a spheric background soundscape -
guitoud's latest lp "i&i" is a perfect musical-underline
for stress-free hours.

13 tracks of finest dub tunes which don't get boring.
far from it! guitoud even manages to bring some trip hop and
jazz elements into his tracks, which gives them a uniqe touch.

for example i wouldn't categorize the track "you & i" just as dub...
it's more an interaction between dub, trip hop and jazz
while the intro-track "heart & soul" (a collaboration with dubosmium)
is more a streight dub tune.
in contrast to those two tracks, "strong & massive" borders
on dubstep, but still has its jazz-influences.
as different as those tracks are, they all follow a chilled route
which blazes its trail through the whole release.

compared to "i&i", his previous release "analogic time" is a bit
"darker" and its genre is more focused on streight dub.
in "i&i" he risked to experiment a bit more...
...and he did a good job!

if i assign these two releases to the seasons,
"analogic time" is the winter-release,
and "i&i" would be dedicated to the summer.

...so be sure to get it during the summer, put it on your
mp3-player, lie down in the sun and start relaxing.
